Ensemble

This incredibly talented Romanian born violinist is a household name on Classic Fm,for both on air and major stage and television productions. She is currently the Concert Master of Johannesburg Festival Orchestra and performs regular chamber music concerts with well-known ensembles. She also teaches violin at three Local Schools.

As a soloist, Thys performed concerti with the PACOFS orchestra on three occasions. He is currently a freelance musician playing with various orchestras and chamber groups. He has had a TV appearance on KykNet’s soapie, Binnelanders, the daily programme, Die Boodskap, and Mzanzi’s The Queen. A highlight of his career was fifty performances of the Disney musical, The Lion King, where he met the late Nelson Mandela and performed to audiences including Oprah Winfrey and Celine Dion.

B.Mus.ed & B.Mus.Hons

Nico Kruger is a dynamic Bass player who constantly strives to hone his craft, playing a Hawkes concert double bass that was hand made in 1903. He was a full-time member of the NSO until it’s closure. He still performs with the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra and the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

Royal Schools Grade 8 with distinction

Peter has played in orchestras all over South Africa including The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Pro Musica Orchestra, the KZN Philharmonic and the Pretoria Symphony Orchestra. He has also played in the State Theatre for several musicals and operas including The Phantom of the Opera, My Fair Lady, Faust and Tosca.
