Our Journey . . .
The Sound Collective is a culmination of professional instrumentalists and vocalists,
expertly guided by vocal director Ruan Odendaal as they navigate the beautiful
musical renditions and original compositions arranged
and composed by maestro Gerry Van Zyl.
This music initiative has evolved through a coming together of likeminded musicians
who have been playing together in an unofficial capacity for several years, primarily bringing
beautifully arranged music to local audiences.
In 2019 they rebranded and THE SOUND COLLECTIVE was born,
a collection of musicians who play to each other’s strengths to highlight the complexity of the
magnificent musical arrangements they perform.
What has remained untouched is the core concept of breathtakingly,
newly arranged music, performed in an intimate setting – a truly up close
and personal transcendent experience.
